Bee Cave
Bee Cave is a small city founded in 1987. It is located to the west of Austin at the confluence of Barton Creek and Little Barton Creek in the acclaimed Lake Travis School District. The current population is about 6700+ people (2017 estimate).
Dietrich Bohls and his family moved to the area in the 1850s and were some of the first settlers to this area. Bee Cave got its name from the colonies of Mexican honeybees that live around the banks of Barton Creek and Little Barton Creek which were likely a lot more plentiful at that time!
City Hall and the Public Library are located in the Hill Country Galleria and the building forms a centerpiece for the open air mall. The city has created Central Park, a large city park at the corner of Bee Cave Parkway and RR 620.
It is home to the Falconhead and Spanish Oaks Golf Courses. There is a variety of restaurants and plenty of shopping in the area. The well-known backyard music venue is located in Bee Cave.
Students attend acclaimed Lake Travis ISD.
