Austin
Austin is the home of the State Capitol of Texas. Did you know that our Capitol building is taller than our National Capitol? You know what they say… everything is bigger in Texas!
Conveniently located in the Central Texas Hill Country, Austin boasts some of the most stunning scenery in Texas. Surrounded by rolling hills and many lakes and rivers, we are a recreational paradise. We have lots of sunshine here, a relatively mild climate (although it does get hot in the summer) and offer world-class barbeque, cowboy boots, music venues (Check out 6thStreet – we are the Music Capital of Texas!), golf, golf and more golf, great restaurants, many fairs & festivals, sports venues, surrounding quaint small towns, a stable, diverse & growing economy boasting strong job creation, plus affordable real estate. Lady Bird Johnson Lake, Lake Austin, and Lake Travis provide a cool breeze and a great place to relax and enjoy. The Austin area is a wonderful place to call home.
Austin is home to the F1 Races every year – the only Formula One Racing Venue in the United States. The Circuit of the Americas track is just east of Austin’s Bergstrom Airport to the east of downtown.
As of the Census Bureau’s July 1, 2016 estimate, the population of Austin is 947,890. The greater Austin-Round Rock Metro area has a population of over 2 Million people.
Communities
Austin and the surrounding area offer many possibilities in a diverse group of communities and locales. While there are several communities that cater specifically to the 55 & over buyer, such as Sun City in nearby Georgetown, there are many more possibilities that will offer a more mixed group of residents including singles, families, empty nesters, and, of course, second homeowners. Golf course or lake communities, in-town lofts, quiet subdivisions, townhome or condominium complexes, acreage tracts or ranches in outlying areas, you will have no trouble finding the perfect home.

Austin offers excellent healthcare facilities with several more currently under construction or in the development phase. Plus, we are within easy driving distance of all the wonderful facilities that Houston & San Antonio have to offer and is home to one of the largest VA Clinics in the U.S. Schools Austin and the surrounding area have a great number of highly-rated school districts. Sports are a big part of school life here and just about every recreational sport is available either in the schools or in the many local community programs. Academics are important too and some of the highest-ranked schools in the state are located here. We are fortunate to have many fine universities and colleges as well. Austin Community College (ACC) has an extensive system with many campuses throughout the area and offers training opportunities and degree programs. The University of Texas is situated in downtown Austin (go Longhorns!), St. Edwards in South Austin, Southwestern University is in Georgetown, Concordia University is located in the Cedar Park Area. Nearby in San Marcos, you will also find the campus for Texas State University. If you are interested in higher learning, we’ve probably got it covered. |
